And immediately with the trump cards: Simgot EM1, EM2 and EM3 headphones review

Last fall on the Russian market appearednew brand simgot. Many immediately wondered: where, in fact, "legs grow"? In general, the company Simgot was created in early 2015, it is a Chinese brand with its own production and development department. He didn’t get to Russia right away, but now is the time to see what the company can offer its Russian users. After all, the brand name was formed from the words “simple” and “elegant” (“simple” and “elegant”).

The editors were several models at once.manufacturer - Simgot em-1, em-2 and em-3. These are intra-channel headphones, representatives of the second wave in the production program Simgot. They came out almost simultaneously and are a separate series along with EM5. First of all, they differ in the number and type of drivers: if the EM1 model has only one dynamic emitter, then in EM2 it also adds reinforcement, which makes the headphones hybrid. But the EM3 version does have three drivers at all - two reinforcing and one dynamic.

From left to right: Simgot EM3, EM1 and EM2

Simgot em-1 are the youngest among the three, butdespite this, it boasts flagship manners. First, these earbuds have an ear hook (like the EM2 and EM3) - it is designed so that it comfortably fits the ear and perfectly fixes the earpiece. Due to the fact that the model is single-driver, the body of the earpiece is small, so you will not experience discomfort from long wearing. The headphones use dynamic drivers from the EN700 PRO (an upgraded version of the Simgot EN700, which received a replacement cable and improved sound), in terms of sound, they surpass many similar headphones in this price range.

In addition, even the younger model has a removablecable, and this 2-pin connector 0.78 mm, which is equipped with a protective groove to prevent damage. And the equipment is rich: in addition to the headphones themselves, they put several silicone ear cushions of different sizes.

Speaking of boxes: all three models have medium-sized cardboard. Making a minimalist, nothing superfluous - such a reference to the premium immediately captivates. True, the EM3 package is still more “variegated” - as befits a model with three radiators.

Simgot em-2, like EM1, areclosed in-ear headphones with a removable cable and ear-type attachment. They look more interesting: a completely transparent case (only a small overlay with the model number stands out), which allows you to see all the internal parts and wiring of the wire, a slightly larger size and excellent noise insulation.

The soundman repeats the course of the ear canal and speciallylocated at an angle to the body. And these are not just beautiful words: it is very dependent on this, whether the headphones will not “crush” on the ears, and what a general impression from listening they will create. Many manufacturers miss with the right angle and length of the sound guide, from which the sound picture appears completely different.

The set also comes with two sets of siliconeear cushions - three pairs of different sizes. The kits differ in different sound settings: due to the shape of the ear cushions, the fit of the earpiece in the ear and, as a result, the character of the sound change. I opted for the biggest ones and felt very comfortable, though I still couldn’t leave the thought that with foam nozzles, the sensations would have been even better. The cable, like the EM1, is braided detachable with eyelets. The silicone braid of the cable is more flexible around the auricle, but the shape holds well: even if it is bent strongly, it will return to its original state. So the headphones do not exactly fall out of the ears. Jack is straight, massive, with serious bend protection.

Dynamic driver boasts a membrane10 mm in diameter (for in-ear headphones is really an application) and a power of 0.01 W is not bad, considering that many competitors have two or even three times less of it. Not without advanced improvements - at the heart of the driver is a durable and very lightweight polymeric material, which is additionally treated with titanium coating. The driver Knowles RAF-32873 is responsible for the reinforcement part - a familiar name among music lovers.

The sound of all three headphones is comparable a bit later, fromI can only note that Simgot implemented an unusual approach and did not divide the load between the drivers. Instead, they made it so that both emitters sound simultaneously over the entire frequency range. How this trick turned out to be advantageous, we will soon tell.

As mentioned earlier, "3" in the nameSimgot EM3 headphones mean there are three drivers. One 10-mm composite dynamic emitter and two Knowles TWFK-30017 reinforcing drivers (with a balanced anchor) are involved here.

The packaging is more premium, and so is the case. Not replaceable ear cushions: two sets of S, L and M size. The nozzles are neatly packed in a frame leather case: on the left side of the case there is a mesh that allows you to store small items (even a small player fits).

Due to the additional driver dimensionsThere are slightly more headphones, but the remaining moments are similar to the EM1 and EM2: a 2-pin 0.78 mm connection, which is quite common, earhook. The cable is a 1.2-meter four-wire braided single-crystal copper wire wrapped in a black Kevlar fiber jacket. A cylindrical 3.5 mm plug has a gold-plated coating. It will not be cunning if I say that the sound insulation of this model is slightly better, and they are more comfortable in their ears. BTE, perhaps, and an amateur, but in this case it is almost not felt.

With the angle of the connector here, too, everything is in order: the cable does not press on the ear when worn, and the body itself perfectly matches the shape of the auricle. In this case, do not say that the headphones look better or worse - it is clear that the designers Simgot tried over the entire line, and each model stands out from the rest with its own individuality.

Before you start talking about the sound, I wantsay about two points that I personally would like to improve in these headphones (applies to all three models). Yes, the manufacturer thought very carefully about the ear cushions and put in the kit two sets with different sound settings, but I would also like foam nozzles. Although, if you decide which set of ear cushions sounds best for you, you can choose foamy with a similar character for yourself - not such a costly task. Foam caps allow you to make headphones more versatile (I know a few people who don’t have any silicone ear cushions - they probably need something like XS or XL).

Well, another question - to the removable cable. It has 0.78 connectors, and if you have MMCX cables loose, replacement may be difficult. On the other hand, MMCX is not a dominant standard, and there are plenty of solutions with 0.78 or A2DC on the market. In addition, Simgot has Bluetooth adapters with such connectors, and this gives additional flexibility of use.

Well, to immediately go with the trump cards, first look at the comparison of technical characteristics.

As you can see, the differences are minimal, and arethey are mainly in the type and number of drivers. However, at low, mid and high frequencies, the headphones are very different. And do not forget that if you want to "squeeze" the maximum of these headphones, it is important to choose the right ear cushions and ensure a balance between comfortable and tight fit. I now liked the sound of the ear cushions from the second group more - the sound turned out to be as natural as possible, but the headphones did not “press” on the ears. At the same time, other editors rated the first set.

Low frequency

If the low bands are not too accented in EM1 and em-2, thenin EM3, they are fully revealed - yet the two reinforcement drivers make themselves known. The lack of frequency separation between the emitters unambiguously benefited them: the headphones play the bass very loud and deep. Moreover, it is the depth that deserves attention: the headphones are capable of developing an impressive sound pressure - the effect is very unusual and interesting.

Mid frequencies

At mid frequencies, the order of the whole three: the vocals sound smooth and lively, and in general, during the audition, there were no shortcomings. Perhaps the sound just lacks naturalness, it is very clear, even too much. But here it is immediately worth noting that both the EM1, and the EM2, and the EM3 are intended only for special audio players. Not necessarily expensive - we tested them with the FiiO M7, but listening to only loseless formats is a real must have. Yes, do not even dare to connect them to your smartphone or even an iPod, do not force your ears (and headphones) once again.

High frequencies

And here I liked the mostEM2 - they best cope with high frequencies. In other models, they turned out to be slightly less bright, but they are good quantitatively. Of course, this is a matter of taste - someone likes it when the HF is not very distracting attention and just is a nice addition.

What to choose?

Choosing between these novelties from Simgot, you needtake into account not only the design features, design and number of drivers, but also the price. The younger em-1 model costs about 5 thousand rubles, for the older one you have to pay almost 20 thousand rubles. All models offer a good design and a rich package, and the em-3 also stands out with a perfectly tuned sound. It can not but rejoice that Simgot offers different options for good sound at an affordable price and with excellent quality. Headphones are assembled to the conscience and, if we take into account the interchangeable cable, just serve for as long as possible.
