Entering the market for the latest company processorsThe 10th generation Intel Core (Comet Lake-S) is becoming one of the most anticipated events of the coming months. Numerous insider leaks allow us to evaluate the technical characteristics of future chips. Meanwhile, information about the price of processors has not yet been disclosed. However, journalists from El Chapuzas Informatico from Spain found out Intel's pricing policy for the German market, which allows an approximate estimate of the cost of processors for European consumers.
The price range is very diverse: from 129 euros for the simplest Intel Core i3-10100T (4 cores, 8 threads) to the most productive processor of the Core i9-10900K line (10 cores and 20 threads) for 504 euros. All prices are indicated without VAT, therefore, to form an idea of the real retail value, it is necessary to add another 21% to the price.
Earlier information appeared that Intel processorsthe tenth generation will be manufactured according to the old 14-nm process technology and preserve the old architecture. The changes will only affect the connector, where the LGA 1151 socket, introduced in 2015, will be replaced by the LGA 1200. Also, the number of cores in flagship models will be increased to 10.
Intel pricing policy is formed underthe impact of continuous competition with AMD. The upcoming processor line will compete with AMD Ryzen 3000 series chips introduced about a year ago, which are already using 7nm technology. Currently, 12-core Ryzen 9 3900X, the main competitor of the 10-core Core i9-10900K, foreign retailers offer at a price close to 400 dollars. The official presentation of the Intel LGA1200 and the 10th generation Intel Core processors (Comet Lake-S) is scheduled for late April 2020.
