Radio presenter mocked the hijackers of her Tesla Model 3

The lucky owner of a Tesla electric carModel 3, radio host Annabelle Brett from Australia, was the victim of car thieves who tried to steal her car right from the garage. Early in the morning at 6.20 a.m. Annabelle was awakened by a series of disturbing messages from the Tesla Mobile app on her iPhone, which is connected to her car.

The first notice at 4am saidthat "the security mode activated the alarm state", and in the next one it was already reported that "the car alarm was triggered." She then received several other notifications that several iPhones had been removed from her electric vehicle key list. Tesla can be unlocked with a key card or with a smartphone connected to the vehicle, but the owner's smartphone cannot be disconnected from the vehicle. The deleted iPhones were registered to Annabelle's father and fiancé.

Going down to the garage, the radio presenter foundthe loss of the car and immediately reported to the police, and she began to track the car. Together with her friend, Annabelle set off in pursuit, fixing Tesla's location on the iPhone. Along the way, the resourceful girl began to mock the car drivers, remotely controlling the sound signals, raising and lowering the windows, and also reducing the speed of the electric car.

Already at 6.43 Brett tracked her Tesla to a parking lot in Haig Park, which is just two blocks from her home. A man in an orange shirt got out of the electric car, got into a blue Ford Fiesta and disappeared. However, Annabelle was able to film the car's license plates and tell the police who arrived that Ford, in addition to the driver, had a passenger in the front seat and a woman in the back. Police later obtained high-resolution photos of the authors, captured by Tesla's internal cameras.

Using Ford Fiesta numbers, police quicklydetained one of the criminals. However, a few hours later, Annabelle once again helped law enforcement officers. While cleaning her Tesla, the girl found an envelope with a driver's license, which later turned out to be in the name of the second hijacker. According to the radio host, new technologies will be able to deter people in the future from committing rash crimes.
