Announcement. Onyx Boox Note 3 - planned upgrade of a large reader

Large (ten-inch) ink electronica reader with very impressive characteristics. In fact, Onyx Boox Note 3 is a planned update of the Onyx Boox Note 2 model announced exactly one year ago. New hardware, more recent Android, improved backlighting system. At the same time, the main characteristics, appearance and price remained exactly the same as they were.

Let's start with the price. Overseas device
valued at $ 549.99 (₽42900). In Russia, they want a little more money - ₽54,990 ($ 705). Not a cheap device, not for everyone. On the other hand, it is unnecessary for everyone.

Screen. Inky 10.3 ″. E Ink Mobius Carta. With dual sensor. Capacitive - for fingers, induction Wacom - for stylus (included in the standard package). The resolution is high, 1404 × 1872 (227 ppi). An ideal screen for reading something in black and white, such as documentation in PDF files. Backlight MOON Light 2 (versus MOON Light + in its predecessor).

Iron. Onyx does not officially publish the brands of the chipsets used. But, apparently, the Note 3 uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset (2017, about 150 thousand points in AnTuTu). By the standards of such devices, the hardware is very powerful. The Note 2 used the older and less powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 625.

The same amount of memory. 4 GB operational, 64 GB constant. There is no support for memory cards, but it is possible to connect external cards and disks via OTG.

The battery capacity has not changed either - 4300 mAh. Most likely, due to the new, more energy efficient hardware, Note 3 will work a little longer than its predecessor.

More interesting things. There is a fingerprint scanner (built into the back button under the screen). Dual band Wi-Fi. Bluetooth version 5.0. USB Type-C. There are stereo speakers (!) And a microphone.

The operating system is fresh Android 10.
