Announcement. Huawei Mate 30E Pro - another mystery chipset

Simultaneously with the announcement of the Mate 40 series, the companyHuawei has re-released last year's flagship Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G in its native China. The novelty is called Huawei Mate 30E Pro and differs from its predecessor only in the chipset. There was the HiSilicon Kirin 990 5G, and the mysterious new HiSilicon Kirin 990E.

Remember the news about the Mate 40 family? There, the youngest of smartphones, Huawei Mate 40, is made on the HiSilicon Kirin 9000E chipset. The rest are on the HiSilicon Kirin 9000 chipset without the letter E. The differences between the chips are in the E-version by two GPU cores (22 vs 24) and one NPU core (2 vs 3). And here is exactly the same thing. HiSilicon Kirin 990E also has fewer cores than its “ancestor” HiSilicon Kirin 990 5G (14 vs 16, 2 vs 3).

Returning to the thought that I have already voiced. I don't see any point in starting to rivet a slightly simplified version. Especially if we are talking about an old chipset, the production of which has long been in production. It seems that there really is a certain percentage of chips that do not work one or two cores. And Huawei simply takes these cores out of service and gets a different chipset, slightly simplified. And rightly so. What good is to be lost.

Another minor difference between smartphones- Huawei Mate 30E Pro does not have an older version with a maximum amount of memory (8 + 512 GB). Otherwise, everything seems to be identical. At least, as far as can be judged by the published characteristics.

The performance of the new chipset is not yetwe know. And HiSilicon Kirin 990 5G is gaining an average of about half a million parrots in AnTuTu. The HiSilicon Kirin 990E will probably be slightly smaller, but hardly strong.

Memory - 8 GB of RAM, 128 or 256 GB of permanent. There is support for proprietary NM memory cards (installed instead of the second SIM card).

OLED-screen ("waterfall") diagonal 6.53 ″. High resolution 1176 × 2400 (409 ppi).

A decent-sized 4500 mAh battery with support for fast and wireless charging.

The rear camera is still in the top 10 forDxOMark versions. 40 + 40 + 8 MP + ToF. Main module, wide-angle, telephoto. The first and last one is with optical stabilization. Front camera (32 MP + ToF) ... I wanted to say that it is weaker. But no, also in the top 10.

5G, NFC, everything is as it should be. Unless there is no sixth Wi-Fi.

The price is still unknown.
