In last week's tests of the speed parameters of cars, when driving on a straight section of the track for a distance of a quarter of a mile, the Lucid Air Dream Edition electric sedan won another victory over the Tesla Model S, setting a world speed record, covering the distance in 9.9 seconds. The previous record, held by the Tesla Model S, was 10.48 seconds and was set in May.
Lucid Air startup, which organizesinvestors from Saudi Arabia and China are taking part, as well as former Tesla employees who developed the Tesla Model S, positioning their future electric sedan as a "Tesla killer." Currently, the Lucid Air Dream Edition has already taken Tesla's record for autonomous travel distance, bringing it to 517 miles or 832 km. Also, the Lucid Air car shows a unique acceleration time to 100 km, which, according to the developers, was less than 2.5 seconds (Tesla's indicator was 2.4 seconds).
In the recently shown clip of Lucid Airdemonstrates a race during which a branded sedan with an engine power of 1080 hp covers a quarter mile in a record 9.9 seconds. At the same time, it can be considered that the victory goes to Lucid Air in the fight against the Porsche Taycan, which translates the new electric car into the class of the fastest production sedans of our time.
