What is dyslexia?

Most often, suspicions arise when reading and writing is much more difficult for a child than for classmates. Due to problems with these skills, children with dyslexia have great problems with other school subjects. Ultimately, this sometimes translates into serious difficulties in adulthood. However, it is important to understand that dyslexia manifests itself in different ways. Patients usually have one or more of these problems:
- difficulty reading;
- difficulties with writing;
- literacy problems;
- problems with math;
- violation of coordination of movements;
- inability to concentrate.

One of the versions says that a neurological disorder occurs due to a phonological deficit. Under this term, it is customary to understand the phenomenon in which the human brain has difficulty correlating the sound of letters with their writing. But it is important to understand that this mechanism can explain only one of the manifestations of dyslexia, and there are many of them. So, in each specific case, the reason should be different.

In the course of several scientific works, scientists have found out that dyslexics have problems with the work of the so-called left auditory cortex. It is responsible for processing sound and operates at a frequency of 30 Hz, but frequencies differ for dyslexic sufferers. Based on the fact that the activity of the brain can be influenced by exposure to a magnetic field, researchers from Switzerland suggested that with normalization of brain frequencies, dyslexia in patients should disappear. To test their theory, scientists conducted an experiment.
On the heads of 30 people were found "hats" withelectrodes generating a magnetic field. Half of the volunteers suffered from dyslexia, while the other half had no problems with writing and reading. To the surprise of the authors of the study, when a magnetic field stimulated the left auditory cortex to work at a frequency of 30 Hz, dyslexics really began to read well. But for people who already read well, stimulation, on the contrary, interfered.
