Russian fighters MiG-31, developed inUSSR in the 70s of the last century, continue to solve modern combat missions. In the course of combat training, the pilots of a separate mixed aviation regiment of the Troops and Forces in the North-East of Russia, based in Kamchatka, conducted a training session to intercept enemy aircraft at altitudes close to maximum.
Modified MiG-31BM fighters took part in the training flight. One of the planes played the role of an intruder trying to get into Russian airspace at an altitude of 20 km.
The second aircraft was assigned to intercept the target.fighter-interceptor MiG-31 BM, which independently, without the help of air defense systems, performed a search and target acquisition. After the electronic launch of the air-to-air missile, the objects of control recorded the defeat of a conventional target.
