According to the developers from GPD, to createThe 'true compact console' was inspired by the Sony UX series pull-out panel design. The appearance of the console in a slider form factor, similar to the Nintendo Switch console, has a retractable backlit QWERTY touch keyboard, stationary gamepads (joysticks, D-pad and control buttons) in the sides of the device and a 5.5-inch IPS display (720p).

The console hardware will run onIntel Tiger Lake platform with a Core i7-1165G7 processor (on select models - Intel Core i5-1135G7) and Intel Iris Xe graphics accelerator. The amount of LPDDR4 RAM is 16 GB, and the PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSD drive will receive a volume of 1 TB.

Wireless communication is provided by Wi-Fi modules6 and Bluetooth 5.0. The console also features Thunderbolt 4 / USB Type-C and USB Type-A connectors, a microSD slot, and a standard 3.5mm headphone jack.
