The start of fundraising may begin soon. The main task of the console is to provide the ability to access high-budget AAA games on a portable device, at a speed of 60 FPS with special effects.
According to the developers from GPD, to createThe 'true compact console' was inspired by the Sony UX series pull-out panel design. The appearance of the console in a slider form factor, similar to the Nintendo Switch console, has a retractable backlit QWERTY touch keyboard, stationary gamepads (joysticks, D-pad and control buttons) in the sides of the device and a 5.5-inch IPS display (720p).
The console hardware will run onIntel Tiger Lake platform with a Core i7-1165G7 processor (on select models - Intel Core i5-1135G7) and Intel Iris Xe graphics accelerator. The amount of LPDDR4 RAM is 16 GB, and the PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSD drive will receive a volume of 1 TB.
Wireless communication is provided by Wi-Fi modules6 and Bluetooth 5.0. The console also features Thunderbolt 4 / USB Type-C and USB Type-A connectors, a microSD slot, and a standard 3.5mm headphone jack. Using Thunderbolt 4, it is possible to connect to a separate monitor or a special docking station carrying additional connectors: three USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A, one USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C, HDMI and network Ethernet.
Autonomous work is supported by a battery,providing, depending on the type of load, from 3 to 14 hours of operation. Fast charging with PD 2.0 65W protocol will provide a full charge of the battery in 1.5 hours. The device is equipped with a highly efficient heat dissipation system with 8 holes.
In case of a successful crowdfunding campaign, deliveries of the gadget will begin in April or May at a price for a model with Intel Core i5 - $ 799 and with an Intel Core i7 processor at $ 899.
