Positioning*

The so-called number sequence is the mostselling line of realme smartphones. At the presentation of realme 10 Pro, a brief history of the line was shown (number 4 was skipped, as this is an unlucky number in China).

The main advantages of realme 10 Pro:

  • Large IPS LCD screen (6.72 inches) with miniature bezels, 120 Hz frequency and a good margin of 600 nits of brightness
  • 108 MP main camera + 16 MP selfie camera
  • Battery 5000 mAh + adapter 33 W
  • Android 13 and the latest version of realme UI 4.0
  • Snapdragon 695 5G chipset
  • Basic water protection
  • Design "Hyperspace" is a portal to the boundless world of imagination (note: these are not my words, they write so on the official website and are not shy!)

The number series are mid-range smartphonessegment. As planned, the task is to give the user a comfortable smartphone for every day, which will not let you down either in games, or as a screen or camera.

Evolution or degradation of display repair?

A brief digression into the history of display module repair and reasoning about where it all goes and why.

Of the three new realme 10 Pro devicesrepresents the most balanced option in terms of price / performance ratio. The price from the younger to the older model goes in increments of 4-6 thousand rubles. And the more you pay, the better quality screen, camera, chipset you get. Accordingly, realme 10 Pro is approximately similar (slightly more powerful) in performance to the usual "top ten", but it has a better screen quality (larger size, higher refresh rate), and the main advantage is the 108 MP camera, which, of course, shoots better than 50 MP lens. When compared with Pro Plus, the “firmware” has a weaker chipset (524 thousand points versus 418 thousand points in AnTuTu) and IPS, and not an AMOLED screen.

*In the "Positioning" section, the official positioning of the product is announced. And also, if necessary, brief information about the company is given.

For this reason, for reasons of expediency, the comparison table below shows the characteristics of all three devices. realme 10 Pro specs are in bold.

Appearance and design

realme 10 Pro is fashionabletrend of recent years: there are flat edges so that the smartphone stands confidently on a flat surface. The device is quite large, and the flat edges slightly impair ergonomics (this applies to any smartphone, from iPhone and Galaxy to Xiaomi 12 Lite). The edges do not stick into the hand, but smartphones with flat edges are easier to slip out of the palm. So if you know the habit of dropping your smartphone behind you, then you should use the complete case, which immediately removes all complaints about ergonomics.

Let's take a closer look at the design and construction features of the smartphone. Please read the photo captions!

The back panel is matte.I don’t know anything about hyperspace design, I got a blue smartphone, but the coating itself is excellent. Fingerprints will not remain even after dinner with pasties. Unfortunately, the kit comes with a smoky-colored case, so, in general, the color is not important if you wear it in a case (the case, by the way, is good).

The smartphone stands firmly on its feet. In difficult times, it can become a support to its owner.

realme prides itself on having miniature screensframes (although the “chin” is still there). The company says it uses vacuum assembly technology instead of glue or resins. In principle, this option should be more reliable, since the glue can dry out over time.

A pleasant moment: dust does not collect around the camera modules. An unpleasant moment: the cameras stick out quite a lot and can slightly cling to clothes. Again, the cover solves the problem.

On the right side there is a volume control and a fingerprint scanner slightly recessed into the body. There are no questions about the operation of the scanner. Works well and accurately.

At the top end there is a microphone, a speaker mesh, and also note that a factory protective film is pasted. The film is good, so do not shoot immediately.

On the left side is a slot for SIM cards, one of which can be replaced with a microSD memory card.

At the bottom there is a 3.5 mm jack, a microphone, Type-C and a speaker.

There are 3 colors to choose from - blue, black and mother-of-pearl hyperspace. The first two imply a matte finish on the case. The last one is glossy.

The smartphone has a nice laconic design. For my taste, the most interesting color is black. The device is more interesting not by its design, but by its construction using vacuum instead of glue. On the one hand, this certainly improves the performance of the gadget. On the other hand, it probably implies that in which case you won’t go to any service. You need to go to the official one, where they know how to work with this assembly technology.

Screen

Of the entire 10 series in realme 10 Pro, the largestscreen. It is a 6.72-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz. This is not stated on the official website in the specifications, but the smartphone supports HDR10.

By the way, about the refresh rate. There are still many myths about this topic. People somehow expect that, having bought any smartphone with a frequency of 120 Hz, they will immediately be able to use it for everything from games to movies. I remember how one comrade once asked, they say, I launched the battery life video test twice. Once in normal mode, another time at an increased frequency, and the results were the same. And this is logical, because the smartphone, unlike the user, understands that there is no point in playing video at an increased frequency.

Look at the screenshot below from the official websiterealme 10 pro. The frequency of 120 Hz is exclusively for working with the smartphone menu and web pages. In games, you can get a maximum of 90 Hz, and then on the condition that the game developers have made this option available.

The screen is good in terms of brightness and color reproduction. The maximum brightness measured was at 615 nits, which is a dozen more than the base realme 10. The smartphone will be comfortable to use during the day on the street. But under the direct rays of the bright summer sun, the brightness may be a little lacking.

Color accuracy at the proper level. The average deviation (delta E) is only 3. The figure is the same as that of realme 10. Interestingly, compared to realme 10, there are fewer color mode options. Only 2: bright and natural. However, it's probably better that way. Most users are unlikely to ever look at this section.

In official positioning, realme is promotingthe screen is both borderless and immersive. And, in general, do not lie. Watching the same YouTube in full screen is very nice. If you often watch video from the screen, then you will definitely be satisfied. As a miniature cinema, a smartphone is great.

Performance

Responsible for performance is a set of chipset Snapdragon 695 5G (6 nm) + 6 or 8 GB LPDDR4X RAM + 256 GB UFS2.2 drive.

Important point:in the settings, the smartphone allows you to double the amount of RAM, adding 4 to 8 GB of virtual memory to 8 GB of physical memory. Virtual memory should not be neglected. Yes, it is not as fast as a physical one, but it is great for storing many open web pages and other documents, allowing the user to access them instantly. The smartphone uses UFS 2.2 storage. Good. Shows excellent speeds.

Comparing the performance of realme 10 with10 Pro, the latter should be a little more productive. First, it is necessary for the price and performance. Secondly, the Snapdragon 695 5G is still slightly more powerful than the Helio G99. If you look at price positioning, then Helio G99 is a conditional economy that pumped up and jumped on the middle peasant shelf, and Snapdragon 695 5G was originally created with an eye on the middle segment. The AnTuTu test demonstrates this perfectly. 400 thousand points for Helio G99 is the ceiling, at the same time, Snapdragon 695 5G, with competent engineering, can give out 420 thousand points (with an illiterate one, it can show 370 thousand points). In the case of realme 10 Pro, the engineers did an almost perfect job, and the smartphone scored 417,826 points. Along the way, pay attention to how low the temperature of the smartphone after performing the test. Initially, the device was 22 degrees (the temperature in the apartment), and after the test the temperature was only 27 degrees. This is an excellent result. Often, after performing the test, the devices heat up to 40 degrees.

This, by the way, is the feature of chipsets (I'm talking aboutSnapdragon 695 5G, and pro Helio G99 in realme 10). Chipsets are powerful, but they do not warm up like stoves. Yes, and under 100% load they do not suffer from throttling (decrease in performance).

The Geekbench 6 test was recently released. By the way, we have a separate material about the test. If you were interested in how the indicators differ, then here: Geekbench 5 on the left, Geekbench 6 on the right.

In terms of gaming, realme 10 was good too.The smartphone allowed you to play any game (from PUBG to Genshin Impact). And realme 10 Pro, which has 20 percent higher performance, is even more great for games.

The built-in FPS meter shows 30 frames per second at medium settings.

By the way, do not neglect the game mode. It makes the smartphone a little more responsive.

The game is stable, no frame drops. For those half an hour that I ran, the smartphone did not warm up.

Camera

If you have used realme smartphones, thenthe Camera app is familiar to you. If not, then in the "Communications and Shell" section there is a link to a large review of the fresh realme UI 4.0, which I recommend for viewing if you want to get an idea of \u200b\u200bthe capabilities of the shell.

The main camera of realme 10 Pro is a system of two lenses: 108 + 2 MP (the latter, as it were, is needed for depth when shooting portraits, but in fact it is not needed). The front camera is 16 MP.

The feature of the smartphone is just a 108 MP lens. It also has 3x magnification. This is digital scaling, but, as realme assures, without quality loss. Let's check! Let's start with this function.

Firstly, realme is not lying about what is heresome kind of technology is applied, and not just “crop” (that is, cropping the original photo). Here is a crop combed by artificial intelligence. And, in my opinion, it looks good.

Speaking about algorithms and hairstyles, look at Vladimir Ilyich, whom the snowball decorated so that even now, instead of Al Pacino, you can act in Scarface.

A smartphone with 3 shots asks to hold it tightly. But this shot was taken from a shaking lift.

The magnification is great for doing macro photography.

Several shots on the main camera.

The selfie camera delivers decent results. In portrait mode, background blur can be adjusted.

I liked the night shot. When shooting, the smartphone asks to hold it still for a few seconds, but the result is excellent. Look at the metal bird below. Even at night it turned out to make a good portrait.

I will definitely give a minus for the work of artificialan intellect that does nothing but make colors flashy. Look below at the fiery strawberry, a bright orange bench. Probably, you can turn on AI only when shooting at night.

  • Original photos (zip, 128 MB)

I liked the realme 10 Pro camera. This is a really big step up from the realme 9 Pro which used a 64MP lens. In this review, I only talked about the main features of the camera. And there is also the "Street" mode, which offers shooting at 24 and 50 mm and overlays filters, and a number of other highlights that will make photos more interesting.

Battery life

The smartphone comes with a 33W charger. On the one hand, in this price range, this is generally normal. On the other hand, the same Xiaomi in its 12 Lite series already uses 67 W charging, turning the 67 W adapter into a standard type of fast charging, which is equipped with any smartphone of the company. In fairness, in this price category, such fast charging is to some extent marketing. For example, realme 10 Pro charges from 0 to 100% in 70 minutes, and Xiaomi 12 Lite with 67W takes 54 minutes. However, more powerful charging actively charges the smartphone in the first minutes. So, from 0 to 50% Xiaomi 12 Lite gets in 15 minutes, and realme 10 Pro in 29 minutes.

In terms of battery life, the smartphone demonstratesyourself from the best side. So, in the PC MARK test (imitation of typical everyday activities - the Internet, video, video communication, document editing, photo, video editing) at maximum manual screen brightness with Wi-Fi turned on, the smartphone lasted almost 9 hours. This is an excellent indicator. However, if you need even more battery life, then look at the realme 10. In a similar test, it lasted more than 10 hours.

Communications and shell

In this section, it is difficult to find fault with a smartphone. Judge for yourself:

  1. VoLTE, VoWiFi, call recording out of the box.
  2. NFC with "World Pay" works great.
  3. There is a compass (that is, the map shows the direction where the smartphone is looking).
  4. Bluetooth is up-to-date, supports all the necessary codecs.
  5. Android 13 and realme 4.0 are wonderful. We have a great review of the shell, be sure to check it out. For example, realme UI has a video playback feature (including YouTube in the background).

And also be sure to read the realme UI 4.0 shell review.

Conclusion

realme 10 Pro is an example of a successful smartphone. For example, if you own a 9 Pro, then a new camera is a significant reason to upgrade.

In a sense, realme 10 Pro has no obviouscompetitors. For example, my first impulse was to advise, if you don't like realme, look at Xiaomi 12 Lite (more powerful chipset, AMOLED 120Hz, similar cameras) or Galaxy A53. But these devices on Yandex.Market are sold for 25-26 thousand rubles, that is, 2-3 thousand more expensive than realme. With Xiaomi 12 Lite, by the way, I don’t understand the situation at all, since in the same DNS a smartphone costs 40,999 rubles!

Other competitors are Infinix Note 12 smartphonesPro. There is an AMOLED screen, a 108 MP camera, a thin design, Infinix is inferior in some respects, but this smartphone is sold in DNS for 17 thousand rubles, that is, 6 thousand cheaper ...

Be that as it may, about realme 10 Pro I will say thatsmartphone is good. You can take. I don’t know how it will serve in the long run, but I still have realme 6 as a second smartphone, which I use to test applications so as not to litter the main phone. The smartphone ended its life journey on Android 11 and realme UI 2.0. But realme 6 is still fast and the battery lasts a long time. So I have no reason to think that realme 10 Pro will let you down.
