Chevrolet eCreate kit will convert any car into an electric car (2 photos)

One of the most popular Americanautomakers Chevrolet, a division of General Motors, has given brand fans the opportunity to transform an old car into a modern electric car using a dedicated eCreate engine kit. ECreate will go on sale as early as 2021.

As an example, like from an old carYou can make a modern electric car, the 1977 Chevrolet K5 Blazer SUV was chosen, in which about 90% of the components from the all-electric Chevrolet Bolt were installed.

The upgraded K5 Blazer receiveda 200 horsepower electric motor and a 60 kWh battery pack that was housed in the cargo hold of the SUV. Chevrolet engineers, using standard controllers and wiring, also implemented the ability to use braking energy to recharge batteries. The mechanical part of the gearbox, propeller shaft and axle has not changed. The cost of the Electric Connect and Cruise conversion kit, which is scheduled to hit the market in the second half of 2021, is still unknown.
