In the competition for the release of the first domestica serial electric car, the giant of the Russian automobile industry, KAMAZ, joined the development of the NTI Competence Center "New Production Technologies" of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU). SPbPU engineers announced the beginning of the final phase of testing the Kama-1 electric crossover, a small car that runs entirely on electricity.

Technical parameters of the new Russianelectric car "Kama-1" allows you to make a trip on one battery charge within the range of 250 to 300 km. The electric car is capable of accelerating to 60 km / h in 3 seconds, and the maximum speed will be 150 km / h. The design of "Kama-1" is optimized for Russian frosts and allows the vehicle to be operated at temperatures of minus 50 degrees Celsius.

First official car presentation"Kama-1" may take place already on December 10, 2020, and the first serial electric vehicles will enter the market next year 2021 at a price of less than one million rubles.

Small electric carwill receive compact dimensions, convenient for city travel. The electric vehicle will be 3.4 meters long and 1.7 meters wide. The 33 kWh battery will support fast charging, allowing it to recharge up to 70% in just 20 minutes. The Kama-1 cabin provides space for four people and has a compact luggage compartment. According to the developers, the electric car will be popular with car rental companies and the retail market.
