Summer, sun, walks, picnics - it seems as ifeverything returned to normal. The streets are again filled with people, and restrictions are gradually being removed. However, according to the Director of the European Bureau of the World Health Organization (WHO), Hans Kluge, in 11 countries there has been a sharp increase in the incidence of Covid-19. According to experts, the second wave of coronavirus will arrive in Russia in two weeks, and the risk of spread will increase if precautionary measures are not taken. Moreover, according to a recent study, asymptomatic carriers spread the coronavirus across all surfaces.
The situation with coronavirus in the world
Of course, we are all tired of the restrictions, introduced due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, there is something that no one should forget about - the new Sars-Cov-2 coronavirus, as well as protective masks, gloves and sanitizers with us for a long time. At least until they invent the vaccine and produce it on the necessary, multi-million dollar scale. You can read more about the international vaccine race in our material.
At the time of this writing, according to the Johns Hopkins University website, the number of infected Covid-19 in the world almost reached 10 million people. At the same time, experts of the Control Center recentlydiseases in the United States (CDC) suggested that in the United States the actual number of infected people can be much more than official data and exceeds 20,000,000. But how is this possible?

Asymptomatic carriers of coronavirus
New study published in the journalmSphere, was conducted after WHO epidemiologists suggested that asymptomatic carriers of Covid-19 rarely spread the virus. According to Newsweek, there are many reasons why some people do not show symptoms of Covid-19. For example, a person could receive a low dose of the virus during infection, which is quite likely because people pay more attention to hygiene.
During the study, scientists took more than 100 samplesair and surfaces of six hospital wards, in which there were 13 patients with confirmed coronavirus, two patients showed no symptoms of Covid-19. Samples were taken from the floor, mattresses, door handles, switches, sinks, toilets and sinks, bedside tables, sheets and pillows. Of 112 samples taken, 44 were infected with SARS-CoV-2. None of the air samples were contaminated.
In total, in the ward of one asymptomaticThe patient was contaminated with four surfaces - a bed, a pillow, a sheet and an air duct. The results of the study showed that asymptomatic carriers of the new coronavirus can be dangerous for those with whom they are in close contact. Therefore, researchers believe that it is safer for asymptomatic patients to stay in hospitals rather than at home.
Experts from the University of Technology Sydneyand networks of children's city hospitals report that having a strong immune response when viruses invade the body can prevent the spread of infection, reduce the amount of virus in the body, and prevent it from entering the lungs.
However, the study has some limitations. First, scientists do not report whether the detected viral particles were viable. Previous studies have shown that on some surfaces the virus is quickly destroyed or viable in just a few hours. Secondly, the method that the team used to test the coronavirus often shows a false positive result. But even despite the above limitations, it is necessary to observe all safety measures, the authors of the scientific work believe. This is especially true for those who know or suspect that they have come into contact with people infected with Sars-Cov-2.

Let me remind you that the most important measuresprecautions are: restricting contact with other people; the use of a protective mask in public places, especially in public transport, pharmacies and shops; thorough hand washing; maintaining social distance. In general, the results showed that even despite washing hands and thorough disinfection, the virus is everywhere. The work also recalls that the asymptomaticCovid-19 carriers are capable of transmitting and spreading the virus in the same way as those infected with pronounced symptoms. Agree, this is a pretty serious point that should be borne in mind.
