Announcement. Onyx Boox Nova 3 - planned upgrade of the average reader

As is the case with the Onyx Boox Note 3, before usplanned renewal. Onyx Boox Nova 3 is a direct descendant of the Onyx Boox Nova 2 e-book announced this spring. And the changes are about the same. We replaced the hardware with a fresher one, updated the software. Plus - and this is already curious - they added a microphone and a speaker.

The price is the same as the Onyx Boox Nova 2 at launchsales. $ 339.99 (₽26500) over the hill, ₽33990 ($ 436) in Russia. Nova 2 has already dropped in price to $ 301.40 (₽23500) over the hill. It is not yet clear how the Russian price will change.

The screen is ink. E Ink Carta Plus diagonal 7.8". With dual sensor. Capacitive - for fingers, induction - for a stylus (included in the standard delivery set). The resolution is high, 1404 × 1872 (300 ppi). MOON Light 2.

Iron. Onyx does not officially publish the brands of the chipsets used. But, apparently, the Nova 3 uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset (2017, about 150 thousand points in AnTuTu). By the standards of such devices, the hardware is very powerful. The Nova 2 used the older and less powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 625.

The same amount of memory. 3 GB of operational, 32 GB of constant. There is no support for memory cards, but it is possible to connect external cards and disks via OTG.

The battery capacity has not changed either - 3150 mAh. Most likely, due to the new, more energy efficient hardware, Nova 3 will work a little longer than its predecessor.

Wi-Fi dual band. Bluetooth version 5.0. USB Type-C.

The operating system is fresh Android 10.
