Announcement. Motorola Edge 40 - advanced middle class for Europe

Motorola has unveiled (this time in Europe) its brand new Motorola Edge 40 smartphone.

As you might guess, formally Motorola Edge40 will be positioned as the younger brother of the flagship smartphone Motorola Edge 40 Pro. In principle, everything is logical. Edge 40 is smaller, cheaper. Slightly worse battery and cameras. Another appearance ... Frankly, these are still two completely different smartphones.

Edge 40 is the first smartphone (but the second device)on a fresh MediaTek Dimensity 8020 chipset. Which is confusingly similar to the year before last MediaTek Dimensity 1100 chipset. So we are usually waiting in AnTuTu around six hundred thousand points. The indicator is not flagship, but more than worthy.

There is a lot of memory. 8 GB operational, 256 GB permanent. Support for memory cards in the specifications is not mentioned. Most likely, it is not here.

The screen with pOLED matrix and ultra-high refresh rate - up to 144 Hz. Size plus or minus the usual, 6.55″ (104 cm²). The resolution is high - 1080 × 2400 (402 ppi).

The battery is not very capacious by modern standards, only 4400 mAh. Charging is fast - 68 watts. There is also wireless charging (15 W).

There are not a lot of cameras, but the main camera hasThere is optical stabilization. 32 MP front, 50 + 13 MP rear. Intuition tells us that OmniVision OV50A is used as a sensor in the main camera.

Other. The smartphone is fully protected from water and dust - IP68. There is support for eSIM and NFC-module. The fingerprint scanner is hidden under the screen.

The Motorola Edge 40 will cost €599.99 (₽52,500, $663) at launch.
