PPK-20 submachine gun chambered for 9 × 19 LUGER, shown in a demo video (video)

In the near future, the special forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russiawill receive the newest 9 mm Kalashnikov submachine gun PPK-20. Back in mid-summer 2020, the successful completion of state tests of the novelty was reported.

Now the Kalashnikov concern has presented a video onwhich shows the appearance of the weapon and lists its main tactical and technical characteristics. The basis for the development of the PPK-20 was the already mass-produced submachine gun "Vityaz-SN", used in the special forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the FSB and the FSO of Russia.

The main advantage of the new weapon ismagazine with a capacity of 30 rounds 9 × 19 LUGER. The video indicates that the "net" barrel length will be 233 mm. Weight 3.65 kg. The PPK-20 submachine gun is equipped with a folding stock. The total length of the weapon is 640-700 mm.

Also, the new small arms are equipped with slotteda flame arrester with a bayonet mount for a low-noise firing device (silencer). The official presentation of PPK-20 took place at the Army-2020 forum. When creating PPK-20 on the basis of Vityaz-SN, ergonomics and operational reliability were significantly improved, as well as the possibility of using a silencer was introduced.
